Ski Exams

I could not recommend the season course with Ash and Snowsports Coach highly enough. With three trainers on hand during the season, the level of feedback was limitless. This progressed my skiing and teaching ability way beyond what I thought I could ever have achieved.

Ash is a huge help from before you even sign up and well after course completion in helping you find a job. During your journey he is always on hand no matter what. Arinsal is a cracking resort and feels custom made for training. Never too busy, with plenty of places to explore. The town is friendly, local food is awesome and bars are the best for apres and for dissappering into till 4am.

After passing the Level 2 and using Ash as a reference, I landed a dream job in Japan. Thanks to this course, by the time I was working I felt so confident in my own abilities, it made my first season as an instructor a breeze! I was one of the highest qualified team members there with my BASI 2, getting the best work and the most money!.

Snowsports Coach is the place to go to improve your skiing and kick off the best career ever in the mountains!

Skiing with the Snowsports Coach crew was certainly the best of all the options I considered for approaching my BASI Level 2.

After training with the guys for 8 weeks, I went into the assessment period with not only the technical ability to pass but also a solid understanding of how to push my skiing even further than the Level 2 asks, which will really help me as I continue my training through the BASI system. I honestly learned a lot more about my skiing than I thought I would and really enjoyed the winter and met some great people. Staying on for nearly 3 extra weeks was also a bonus...more sking time

Having been fortunate enough to have visited ski resorts around the world, I have found myself continuing to return to Arinsal, thus making it my first choice of resorts to do a season, train and take my Basi Alpine level 2 exam.

Arinsal is a great resort - great slopes, fantastic off piste and apres to match, and an atmosphere akin to a genuinely friendly mountain town - none of the pomp and pageantry that is associated with some of the better known resorts. Ash was my first point of call when I started to explore options for my BASI level 2. After knowledgeably taking me through what was involved, what the course contained and expectations, he ended by saying that the groups get on like a big ski/snowboard family. It sounded corny at the time, but I have to admit it’s true and I have made some great friends.

Being able to train in an environment that was challenging in terms of conditions and terrain, and then be able to kick back with a great supportive team at the end - was second to none. If you are looking for top class instruction, to meet like minded people both on and off the slope, and to come away with a qualification and a great new snow family - then look no further than Ash and Snowsports Coach in Arinsal.

UPDATE: After the season with Snowsports Coach, I applied to the mountain school and worked there for 2 amazing seasons.

I did all my training for my BASI level 1 with Ash and Snowsports Coach. I got so much out of it that the following season I trained with them again for the level 2 in Arinsal. The ski program was both enjoyable and informative. The highly qualified trainers gave me the knowledge and confidence to become a ski instructor. Something that prior to this, I wasn't sure I would ever achieve.

I think a lot of people who train in Arinsal say this, but I love the place.

UPDATE: After the course, I applied and got accepted to work with the mountain school. I'm happy to say, I am going into my second season as a ski instructor in 2024. I got the job thanks to the guys at Snowsports Coach

It was a number of years since I’d successfully taken my Snowboard Level 1 exam with Ash in the UK (I subsequently did the Snowboard Level 2 Season with Snowboard Coach in Andorra).

I also knew I wanted to ski, so I sent Ash the following message: “Do you think you could turn an old guy with grey in his beard into a Level 2 skier?!!”. I got my answer and the following winter I trained for the season with Snowsports Coach for exactly that and didn’t regret a minute of it.

With a small group size and three trainers sharing their expertise, the coaching was again, second to none. I was pushed hard but my skiing and my knowledge improved way beyond what I expected. I’m happy to say I’m now a Level 2 Alpine Instructor as well as a Level 2 Snowboard Instructor.

UPDATE: I’ve been teaching in the mountains since with a company who were specifically looking for dual qualified Instructors. Thanks to Ash for all the help and support - I couldn’t have done it without you and team at Snowsports Coach & Snowboard Coach

This was my third season in Arinsal with Ash and Snowsports / Snowboard Coach. I have been working towards my level three snowboard but I realised that being a dual qualified level two in skiing would be the better way to secure a teaching job in resort. It was a simple decision to continue with Ash and the guys in Andorra.

The training, as ever, was excellent. Fantastic trainers with a huge amount of knowledge and a variety of teaching styles. I went into the course as a snowboarder with limited skiing ability and they managed to get me through the exam. Thanks guys!

UPDATE: I have fallen in love with the place and not just for the ski area, which has an awesome variety of terrain. The town itself is small enough that you'll quickly feel like a local and welcomed by everyone. The pubs and restaurants give us great deals and always take care of us – it’s such an affordable resort to enjoy yourself in! I now return to Arinsal every winter to ski and ride and I work for the mountain school in the busier holiday times now that I’m dual qualified.

After the first morning meeting, I knew the course was not only going to be a challenge, but possibly the best 3 months of my life.

The skiing was great, lots of terrain to work on, lots of sun, and cheap beer. The training was great, world class, and I knew exactly where my skiing was, in terms of “at the level” and from that I knew exactly what I needed to do to get too and above that level.

Alongside passing my level 2, which was an awesome feeling, I have made some friends for life. I would love to re-live those weeks again given the opportunity!

I’ve been with Ash and the crew on 2 of the season programmes, both ski and snowboard. The first course was the first time that I had really been away from home, so naturally I was very nervous. On arrival I was met with a warm welcome, settling my nerves. From there on it was amazing, I learned a lot, skied a lot, partied a lot and had so much fun and met so many new people. So much fun in fact that I came back the next year to do the level 2 Ski program, which was equally amazing. I can honestly say that both courses were the best few months of my life so far!

I trained for my BASI Level 2 ski exam in Arinsal and can safely say it was one of the best decisions I have made so far. The whole process from booking on, to arriving in Arinsal for my first season, to sitting a two week exam was simple with Ash’s help. The training I received was incredible, and took me from being a pretty bog standard skier to someone who was fully ready to sit their level 2 in a matter of weeks.

Arinsal is an amazing resort, especially for your first season, it’s full of fantastic people, has a fab apres scene and having three mountains to ski is a real bonus. I had an amazing three months, met some awesome people and gained a new qualification which has allowed me to do seasons in Japan, New Zealand and Canada. Massive thanks to Ash and the crew for everything.
